SGT Capital and SGF Finalise Arrangements for Strategic Separation

SGT Capital and SGT German Private Equity (SGF) have formally signed the arrangements for their strategic separation, which will become effective on 1 March 2024. As part of this transition, Mr Christoph Gerlinger ceased to be a partner of SGT Capital on 14 February 2024 and will continue in his role as Managing Director of SGF, which is set to rebrand as German AI Group and focus entirely on Artificial Intelligence.

This decision ensures that SGT Capital remains dedicated to its core private equity strategy, investing in mid-cap, market-leading businesses, while German AI Group will pursue new opportunities in the AI sector. SGT Capital and its partners – Joseph Pacini, Carsten Geyer, Dr Marcel Normann, Dino Steinborn, and Marianne Rajic – retain full control and ownership of the investment advisor of SGT Capital funds, which is in the process of obtaining regulatory approvals in the relevant jurisdictions.

This transition has no impact on investors, as Mr Gerlinger had not played an active role in SGT Capital’s private equity business.

SGT Capital remains committed to long-term value creation and transparency, and the firm looks forward to continuing its investment strategy in alignment with its core expertise.
