SGT German Private Equity – Strategic Focus on Artificial Intelligence

SGT German Private Equity, a listed investment holding based in Frankfurt am Main (SGF), announced today that it will focus entirely on the field of Artificial Intelligence and will rename itself to German AI Group, effective immediately.

This strategic shift, however, is not aligned with SGT Capital’s core focus on private equity and investing in mid-cap, market-leading businesses. After careful consideration and extensive discussions, SGT Capital and German AI Group (formerly SGT German Private Equity) have mutually agreed to part ways. As part of this transition, Mr Christoph Gerlinger will continue as Managing Director of German AI Group and will no longer be affiliated with SGT Capital.

As part of SGT Capital’s ongoing commitment to transparency and corporate governance, the firm has also taken this opportunity to relocate its investment advisory operations from Singapore to Europe. This move will allow SGT Capital to better align with its investment focus and enhance service to its funds more effectively.

This decision ensures that both entities can pursue their respective areas of expertise with full strategic independence. SGT Capital and its partners – Joseph Pacini, Carsten Geyer, Dr Marcel Normann, Dino Steinborn, and Marianne Rajic – retain full control and ownership of the investment advisor of SGT Capital funds. This change has no impact on investors, as Mr Gerlinger had not played an active role in SGT Capital’s private equity business.
